9 Reasons Why Leadership Motivation Is Important

By Urvashi Arya

Almost every action we take and make in our life is based on Motivation. Consider what pushed you to enter the kitchen and make a sandwich. Feeling of Hunger. What forced you to get out of bed this morning and work? Without ant doubt, the single hard urge to have a roof over your head and have a portion of food on the table firstly at the most basic primary level.

Motivation is a powerful force in our life, and it is a very natural part of our self-being. We all need a "why" to Motivate us.

Every business idea that has ever been implemented effectively and badly stems from this "why." You as a manager may have endless reserves of self-Motivation, but if that drive cannot be passed on to those around you, achieving the group's objectives will be difficult, if not impossible.

Project deadlines, long-term progress goals, targets, and even day-to-day goals depend solely on bold, Motivating leadership traits.

Every leader's toolkit should include understanding the importance of Team member Motivation and how to go about fostering it. After all, human nature might be unpredictable. Thus there's no precise approach for Motivating.

While leadership Motivation might be difficult at many points, its advantages can make the only major difference between a successful Team and another one that is flickering for success. Let's look thoroughly at the connection between leadership and Motivation and how you can help your Team members develop it.

1. Members who are Motivated Assemble a more powerful Team:

Strong leadership Motivation liberalizes a Team or corporation to gain over its objectives at its most fundamental level. Nothing will be accomplished successfully if no one is driven to accomplish the final effort. It doesn't get any more straightforward and clear than this.

Disengaged employees can be very dangerous to company positions. Employees that are constantly driven and engaged in the work that their company does consistently, on the other hand, make room for a more productive and result-driven corporate organization.

Assume that you have a Team of seven employees under you, each of whom is driven to achieve a particular goal. Imagine the same Team with only two Motivated employees and the other five who would rather squander their time using the internet during the workday. It will take more than the estimated time and effort to achieve that single aim.

2. More success is correlated with better communication:

Without doubt and confusion, one of the most important aspects of great leadership that create Motivation is communication. People naturally want to be recognized first, and learning how to connect successfully with all of your Team members, at both levels, individually and collectively, will make a huge ent scenario difference.

According to published results Gallup poll carried out that was conducted with a group of 1,015 workers conducted in the year 2014, 46% of all those considered for polling stated they hardly or never leave a meeting knowing what they are expected to accomplish. This figure should remind all leaders that they need to improve their communication with their employees.

How can a Team member complete a task successfully if they have no idea what the assignment includes, why they're doing it, or how to accomplish it? Effective leaders are excellent communicators, and Motivation is a result of this.

3. It's Critical to Project a Positive Attitude:

"Believe it or not, You are correct in any case."

Optimism is the only leader's most powerful weapon in combating employee pessimism, which may haywire goals and kills Motivation constantly. It will be really tough to Motivate those around you if you are not Motivated to become a great leader from the core.

You're not simply giving directions to the ones who do what as a leader; you're also shaping people's views about their work. A cheerful attitude is the communication of the impression that you have complete faith in your Team members, from the emails you send to staff members to how you behave and persuade yourself in the break room. That is a very tremendously effective instrument for generating Motivation.

4. Prioritize intrinsic Motivation above extrinsic Motivation from multiple factors:

It's all very easy and simple for leaders to rely solely on extrinsic Motivation from external factors, which means that individuals get Motivated by the prospect side of a reward or the threat of punishment that can be imposed. While setting an effective goal to meet a sales quota to earn a huge bonus or avoid the risk of getting fired can be highly Motivating, it only taps into one single sort of Motivation daily.

When people are Motivated to execute or practice a behavior or activity because that brings them a personal level of satisfaction, this is known as intrinsic Motivation from the internal factors.

A 2013 study of nurses putting together all the surgical equipment is an excellent example. Nurses who met the healthcare providers that would use their kits worked longer and made fewer mistakes than those who did not.

5. Make personal connections that express the "why.:

As seen in the example above, the nurses were more connected to the "why" behind their duty of preparing surgical kits. This "why" can be communicated to Team members by text message, but it may not always be the most effective and efficient method of Motivating them.

Leaders grow and outgrow when they get to know their Team members and form strong ties with them. Real Motivation comes from relationships, and when you know your Team members by more than just their first names, you have a better opportunity of expressing the "why" behind the goal. As a result, your staff is more likely to take pride in their work.

6. Recognize and Motivate Team members:

There's a reason behind your teacher giving you a gold star for answering all of the questions correctly on your homework assignment. Positive reinforcement simply makes you feel good, and people tend to enjoy being acknowledged and recognized for a job well done effectively.

According to reports from a Harvard Business School study, employees who receive praise and kind words constantly from a manager are more Motivated constant— and, thus, it is more productive than those who do not receive praise.

People who praise "job that is well done" are more driven and pushed to keep hard performing good work, which is very surprising effectively.

When a leader proves to fellow people around them that all their hard effort is recognized and appreciated constantly, those Team members will be more inspired to take on the next task.

7. Hold people accountable for their actions and give them feedback received:

A leader's capacity to rectify and correct mistakes or incorrect behaviors is not just as vital and critical as his or her ability to get the required praise. When a leader ignores or delooks bad performance, it can set a harmful precedent and deMotivate previously engaged staff. When other members on the Team don't pull their weight, and a leader doesn't step in to rectify it, people are just not as Motivated to produce outstanding work or tasks.

While applauding hard in public for a Team member can be a hard and tremendous Motivator for the Team, privately disciplining an employee can help keep employee egos in check. You'll be better positioned to Motivate a Team member if you provide comments to a Team member in private.

8. Ask many questions and try to come up with solutions and feedback:

A Motivational leader frequently keeps a constant in with individuals around them to constantly check how they're doing and performing on the job. People need to be aware that their leaders care consciously about their role on the Team that they play and that they may express their problems or share ideas with them constantly.

Is your Team member equipped and centered with all they require? Are they being pushed hard to learn and acquire new skills or encouraged to do so on a constant basis?

Is there a problem and error they notice that isn't being addressed?

Don't underestimate the power of demonstrating real interest in an employee's work in Motivating them. Employees will make feel more prepared to take on new duties and have better respect for leadership if you ask them questions frequently and listen to them.

9. Encourage a Healthy Workplace Culture:

Healthy and happy workers are much more productive and feel better about coming to work every day to accomplish their tasks. Employee burnout is a serious real-time issue. If employees are consistently pushed to work longer hours with more responsibilities burdened on their shoulders, their Motivation will go down, and in such cases, resentment toward the leadership will outgrow.

Of course, there are many occasions when staying up late is necessary for the job. On the other hand, making the correct and proper actions can keep fatigued employees from throwing their arms up to quitting and exiting the building moving out. Healthy measures, offering healthy snacks or incorporating a stress-relieving exercise, can help keep a Team Motivated.

Effective leadership produces tremendous results, and a leader must grasp Motivation's role in the "why" to attain such results and set greater and better goals. When a leader can communicate this message to their Team while also acting as a role model and teacher, they will attract more Motivated personnel.

Leadership Motivation comprises various components, each of which contributes to a Team's overall performance. It may begin with a leader's Motivation, but it should extend to the entire Team.
